Your information in this first release

MyRootConnect is a public development project by Björgvin Þór Hólm. Your personal space and submissions are not public pages.

What we store

We store your username, chosen display name, random identifier, language, creation date and consent version. Passwords and recovery codes are stored as hashes, not readable text. We also store sessions, temporary attempt limits, saved links and feedback.

Documents and processing by Þekking

My information stores your original files and processing results under your account. Only when you consent to processing a particular document do we send that file and its filename to OpenAI. We request that the API not store the response; this is not a promise of zero provider retention. Results are suggestions you can review and correct. Originals can be downloaded and deleted; deleting your account removes them from the active database.

Google Drive

A Google connection lets you select specific files for import. We store the copy, Google file ID, source link, type and reported modification time. The access token is temporary in page memory and individual import requests; we do not persist it in the database or browser storage. Disconnecting does not delete imported copies. You can delete them in My information. Importing does not automatically send files to OpenAI.

Who can read your feedback

Björgvin and Þekking can read your ideas and messages during project work. They are retained for development until you delete your account or they are removed. Messages are not answered automatically or published publicly.

Control and limitations

In settings you can export your data or delete your account, links and feedback from the active database. Deletion applies only to MyRootConnect. Hosting providers and authorised maintenance may have technical access; this is not an end-to-end encrypted document vault.

Please do not submit banking details, passwords, national identifiers, health information or sensitive personal documents to this development release.

Your language preference is stored in your browser. We have not added advertising analytics. This is a local development release. The intended host is Railway and the main domain is myrootconnect.com.
